I think Jerry Reese needs to get off his ass and get with someone who knows how to scout talent, because what Big Blue has playing for them now is a bunch of garbage. I know we've had some injuries to our veterans and we lost some major players because they could the Big Head after the Super Bowl win but these guys we have playing now play like they are in High School Corey Webster couldn't cover my grandmother after 4 years he looks no better than he did his rookie year and the rest of the secondary are to sad to even talk about. Its time for a new coaching staff Coughin and Gilbrite have know gusts the only reason they coached like they did in 2007 is because their jobs were on the line. Its time for a change

After watching the replay on NFL Network, two plays made this loss even more difficult.

First, Brandon Jacobs appeared to give up on his lead block on the third and two play deep in Cards' territory. Insead of getting a first-and-goal, the Giants settled for three. That proved to be huge, because the Giants then twice drove into AZ territory on the final two drives.

Second, on the last drive where Eli threw the interception into double coverage, Kevin Boss appeared to be breaking free down the middle of the field on a LB, with nothing between him and the endzone. Manning has to make a better decision in that spot.

I should also point out that the sack taken by Manning at the end of the half was a bad play. He's very good at throwing the ball away to avoid sacks, but he missed on that one. It also made the FG attempt considerably longer, and predictably, the kick hit the upright.

I failed to mention a personal favorite, Chase Blackburn. Everyone wants this guy replaced, and all he has is a nose for the football. Played extremely well on Thursday night. Reminds me of another guy I liked, Nick Greisen.

JRS, thanks for the nice words. Favre definitely played the game like when we were kids. Whenever NFL Films had him miked up, you could see/hear he was just having fun.

Amazingly, it continues. No highlights in Week 6 or 7 versus Atlanta and San Fran. They did show highlights in Week 5 against the Jets, but as one website pointed out, those were so lame (they focused on the guys who do instant replay as the story line) you'd have thought the Giants lost. You've got a NY team, with good young players (Eli, Osi, Kiwi, etc), and is right now one of the top teams in the NFC. It really makes zero sense.

In a move that got less news, but not lacking importance, the Giants resigned Grey Ruegamer to a two year contract, keeping some much needed depth on the offensive line. Ruegamer can play center or guard and is a solid backup. Look for the Giants to either add a tackle in the draft, or pick up a veteran sometime in training camp for insurance if David Deihl gets hurt and/or Guy Whimper doesn't cut it in August.
