JRS, thanks for the nice words. Favre definitely played the game like when we were kids. Whenever NFL Films had him miked up, you could see/hear he was just having fun.

Amazingly, it continues. No highlights in Week 6 or 7 versus Atlanta and San Fran. They did show highlights in Week 5 against the Jets, but as one website pointed out, those were so lame (they focused on the guys who do instant replay as the story line) you'd have thought the Giants lost. You've got a NY team, with good young players (Eli, Osi, Kiwi, etc), and is right now one of the top teams in the NFC. It really makes zero sense.

In a move that got less news, but not lacking importance, the Giants resigned Grey Ruegamer to a two year contract, keeping some much needed depth on the offensive line. Ruegamer can play center or guard and is a solid backup. Look for the Giants to either add a tackle in the draft, or pick up a veteran sometime in training camp for insurance if David Deihl gets hurt and/or Guy Whimper doesn't cut it in August.

Curtis signed with the Eagles about a week ago. Obviously, this was the better choice for him. He'd be behind Plax and Toomer, and most likely in the same position he was with the Rams (the 3rd receiver). Throw Moss into the mix and it was probably a bit too crowded for his liking. But of course the clincher is always money, and the Eagles threw a big contract at him. With Stallworth gone, he'll compete for the #1 spot there and certainly be the #2 guy. Also, I called him "3rd or 4th" receiver, which was not totally fair. I think he is an ideal #3, slot receiver. He'll have to prove he is a one or two receiver with the Birds.

The Giants renegotiated Droughns' deal, so they may be saving even more in comparison to Rhodes' deal with the Raiders. Overall, a good move by Jerry Reese IMO.

Updates on current players: O'Hara resigned right before free agency was set to begin. That helps keep the OL cohesive. Wilson, Torbor, and Ward were all tendered contracts. The Giants are still talking with Ruegamer, but they are going to let Feely test the market.
